Gaining Self-esteem Affirmations
Affirmations are one of the most powerful self-help tools you can use to overcome your addiction,
gain self-esteem, defeat cravings, and develop a new belief in yourself. The words we use
determine who we are. Changing the way you communicate with yourself and others changes
your behaviors. Using affirmations can help you change your internal communication and
therefore defeat your addiction. Can you think of a few?
Defeating Cravings Affirmations
I am healthy, happy, and wise.
I deserve to be happy and successful.
I have the power to change myself.
I can forgive and understand others and their motives.
I can make my own choices and decisions.
I am free to choose to live as I wish.
I can choose happiness whenever I wish no matter what my circumstances.
I am flexible and open to change in every aspect of my life.
I act with confidence having a general plan and accept plans are open to alteration.
It is enough to have done my best.
I deserve to be loved.
I can defeat my drug addiction on my own.
I have the strength to control all feelings of drug use.
I have the power to control myself.
I can stop using whenever i choose.
I understand drugs have caused me a lot of pain.
I know using drugs will only hurt me and my goals.
I am seeking freedom from the bondage drugs creates.
This moment will pass and i will feel better soon.
Overcoming Powerlessness:
If I believe this thought to be true, will it help me remain sober, safe, and alive?
Is this thought objectively true, and upon what evidence am I forming this opinion?
Is this thought producing feelings I want to have?
Is this thought helping me reach a chosen goal?
If this thought likely to minimize conflict with others?
Developing A New Belief Affirmations
I have a bright future ahead of me.
I no longer use drugs to deal with pain.
I no longer use drugs to feel good.
I have friends who really care.
I am in control of all my addictive desires.
I can do what ever i believe i can do.
I Like myself.
I'm my own best friend.
Forms of autosuggestion in which a statement of a desirable intention or condition is repeated in a quiet and restful
state of mind and body, and when the desired outcome is vividly experienced in one's mind and emotions. Positive
affirmations are viewed as a mobilization of one's inner resources and a very powerful means of reprogramming the
unconscious mind.
